thomasmeyer170Thomas has over 19 years of property/casualty actuarial consulting experience and is one of the founding members of Select Actuarial Services. As a senior consulting actuary he provides expert services to a wide range of Select clients helping them maintain and design strong risk management programs. He has experience with many different lines of business in the property and casualty arena, including workers compensation, auto liability, auto physical damage, general liability, property, directors & officers, public officials liability, and professional liability. He also has experience with more non-traditional coverages such as trade credit risk, management risk, pollution, product liability, and health insurance stop loss. His experience with these lines includes reserve analyses, loss forecasting, probability analyses, rate level analyses, large loss modeling, and capital adequacy analyses. Thomas is an industrious and detail oriented individual, who has the responsibility for the day to day management of projects for some of Select’s largest clients. He also has significant experience working with public entities and public entity risk pools. In addition to consulting, Thomas keeps Select Actuarial Services running smoothly and efficiently by serving as Network Administrator.

Thomas has a keen interest in modeling, having participated in the Casualty Actuarial Society limited attendance seminar on Reserve Variability as well as numerous modeling seminars at the annual Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar. He has also completed the CAS’s online course on Enterprise Risk Management and has completed multiple capital adequacy studies for clients.

Prior to forming Select Actuarial Services Thomas worked for Sedgwick Actuarial Services as an actuarial analyst.

Thomas obtained Associateship in the CAS in 2005 and his Fellowship in 2007, and has served on the CAS Examination Committee. He is also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
